Final Days of the Mirage Volcano ----------------------------------------------------- We all know that the days of the Mirage Hotel Volcano attraction are numbered. Still, it will be good when they turn the show back on tomorrow, Friday March 1st. According to the resort, the famous Strip attraction will operate nightly from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. with shows on the hour. The Las Vegas volcano was shut down for the Grand Prix in November, and again in February while Paramount used the space for the interactive Mountain during Super Bowl week. Hard Rock International now owns and operators of the Mirage Las Vegas casino, but they have plans to tear down the Mirage Volcano show. Final Days of U2 Las Vegas Residency ------------------------------------------------------------- It seems like just yesterday that the U2 Vegas residency opened the new venue. Now here we are, just five months and 40 shows later, talking about them leaving town. Sort of sad, really. The band’s UV Achtung Baby Live concert series is officially closing, with the final performances scheduled for March 1st and 2nd. Originally, the U2 Vegas residency was slated for a mere 25 shows. I spent my evening at the Christmas Festival where the holiday spirit took over. It was for all ages and I got to be a big kid and roam around. I then transferred to the @SheratonHotels Sheraton Puerto Rico Resort & Casino. It is paradise at your fingertips. You really don’t need to leave the hotel to enjoy PR. I got to watch a live performance then went to the T-Mobile District. Before my flight, I went to Castillo San Felipe del Morro to learn more about Puerto Rico’s history.
