El Sub Procurador de Control Regional de la PGR, José Cuitláhuac Salinas Martínez, mostró las fotografías y reveló la identidad de cuatro de los 18 sujetos que están implicados en el ataque al casino Royale. Se trata de los cuatro líderes de la organización delictiva conocida como los Zetas, quienes fueron identificados como Francisco Medina Mejía, alias El Quemado; Baltasar Saucedo Estrada, alias El Mataperros y segundo al mando de dicha organización; Roberto Carlos López Castro o Alberto Alejandro Reyes, El Toruño; y José Alberto Loera Rodríguez, alias El Voltaje. "Cabe reiterar que estamos unidos los tres órdenes de gobierno, para que a través de las investigaciones científicas, exhaustivas y con apoyo de la ciudadanía podamos encontrar y capturar a todo aquel que atente contra la seguridad y paz de la sociedad". Al ser recuperados los vehículos días después del hecho y tras llevar a cabo los análisis correspondientes, se logró dar con la identidad de Julio Berrones Ramírez, que al tener antecedentes criminales se agilizó su captura. Fue el pasado 29 de agosto cuando se logra detener a él y otros cuatro sujetos más identificados como Jonathan Jahir Reyna Gutiérrez, Javier Alonso Martínez Morales, Juan Ángel Leal Flores y Luis Carlos Carrasco Espinoza; actualmente arraigados aquí en Nuevo León. Asimismo se detiene a Miguel Ángel Barraza Escamilla, como autor de los hechos y quien era elemento activo de la Secretaría de Seguridad Pública del estado; actualmente está a disposición del Ministerio Público de la federación. Al continuar con la investigación de los videos y la declaración de los detenidos, se establece que hay cuatro vehículos más, un Mazda negro, Aveo blanco, camioneta X-Terra gris y una Town Contry. Asimismo se establece la participación de 18 personas más por estos hechos, cuatro de los cuales hoy se dio a conocer la identidad y fotografía. El resto de los delincuentes que son buscados y por lo que se ofrece una recompensa, son de apodado El Toro, El Junior, El Papas, El Colitas, El Vogar, El Tita, La Kitty o La Pelirroja; La Beba, El Negro, El Chimpas y/o Chimpa y/o Chilpa; El Flaco, El Huevo, El Tony y El Casillas. De ellos sólo se tiene el retrato hablado.
